Dr Anthony Zambelli brings over two decades of international experience in advanced veterinary medicine to One cancer care for pets in Sydney.

A graduate of the University of Pretoria, Dr Zambelli trained as both a veterinarian and internal medicine specialist, later leading the university’s oncology service before establishing a major referral centre in South Africa. He and his team provided advanced medical and interventional care to patients from across southern Africa, while pioneering minimally invasive and cancer therapies — including laparoscopic surgery, photodynamic therapy, interventional stenting, embolisation, and microwave ablation.

Beyond small animal practice, Dr Zambelli has collaborated with wildlife veterinarians on procedures involving marine mammals at SAAMBR and uShaka Marine World, worked with the Jane Goodall Institute to perform cardiology monitoring in chimpanzees, and assisted in large cat medicine and conservation projects.

Dr Zambelli’s special interests include skin cancers, sarcomas, mast cell tumours, and the care of senior pets with complex medical needs. He has lectured internationally, served as a key opinion leader for Karl Storz, and continues to champion multidisciplinary collaboration in oncology.

A lifelong learner, Dr Zambelli has also studied archaeology and chemistry through the University of South Africa and participated in archaeological digs exploring human and animal history — a pursuit reflecting his fascination with life in all its forms.

Now based in Sydney, Dr Zambelli is excited to work with local veterinarians and pet families to deliver cutting-edge cancer care with compassion, precision, and hope.
