Sonya graduated from Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney in 2004. She worked in Hong Kong as a primary care veterinarian for a year before returning to Sydney and completing a medicine internship at the Animal Referral Hospital (ARH). Upon completion of her internship, she practiced at ARH as an emergency veterinarian for another 8 years.

Sonya joined the oncology service of ARH in 2015 and completed her residency program in 2018. She became a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in 2020 and ever since practiced as a registered specialist in Veterinary Oncology.

She brings a warmth and understanding of the stresses associated with a cancer diagnosis in a pet. Sonya is one of the founding Specialists at ONE Cancer Care for Pets and is committed to achieving the best outcomes for patients and their families.
